中国中央乐团成立于一九五六年，属于中国专业音乐表演团体，历任团长有李凌、严良堃等，该团下设有交响乐队、合唱队、独唱、独奏、重唱、小合奏演员组成的小型演出队和创作组。自建团以来演出过大量的中外节目，及举办过中国作曲家作品专题音乐会，其交响乐队拥有一批经过严格训练的专门人才，亦为电影、电视配制了大量的音乐，在丰富人民文化生活方面，发挥了积极的作用。
Central Philharmonic Orchestra Founded in 1956. Former leading persons included Li Ling, Yan Liang-kun. It is a very large group including orchestra, choir, solo, vocal, ensemble and composition units. In the past years, this orchestra had performed frequently in China and overseas. It had held special concerts of compositions from Chinese composers. Besides performance, it had taken part in many recordings for films and TV programmes and made great contribution to the society.
