中國中央樂團成立於一九五六年，屬於中國專業音樂表演團體，歷任團長有李凌、嚴良堃等，該團下設有交響樂隊、合唱隊、獨唱、獨奏、重唱、小合奏演員組成的小型演出隊和創作組。自建團以來演出過大量的中外節目，及舉辦過中國作曲家作品專題音樂會，其交響樂隊擁有一批經過嚴格訓練的專門人才，亦為電影、電視配製了大量的音樂，在豐富人民文化生活方面，發揮了積極的作用。
Central Philharmonic Orchestra Founded in 1956. Former leading persons included Li Ling, Yan Liang-kun. It is a very large group including orchestra, choir, solo, vocal, ensemble and composition units. In the past years, this orchestra had performed frequently in China and overseas. It had held special concerts of compositions from Chinese composers. Besides performance, it had taken part in many recordings for films and TV programmes and made great contribution to the society.
