馮子存:

笛子演奏家冯子存,一九O四年七月二十九日出生于河北阳原县井集镇西堰头村一农家,一九八七年十二月二十五日逝世于北京。冯氏读私塾两年后,即为人放牛、放驴。大哥与二哥均好丝竹,十一岁时,开始向二哥习笛,随之参加“高跷会”伴奏。十三岁时,已能代二哥独当一面,亦为村中“闹红火”演奏队伍中的一员,一九二一年,随大哥到蒙古包头谋生,因而学到了二人台、爬山调及当地的民歌与曲牌。一九五三年,入选河北省代表队,参加全国第一届民间音乐舞蹈汇演,后调中央歌舞团任笛子独奏演员。一九六四年,中国音乐学院在北京成立,冯氏调任为该院器乐系吹打教研室主任,“文革”中返回阳原故里,一九七二年,重返北京中国音乐学院,一九八三年,该院在京举行了“冯子存笛曲演奏会”。其作品先后收录在《冯子存笛子曲选》及《冯子存笛子曲集》中出版。

FENG Zi-cun

FENG Zi-cun was born on July 29, 1904 in Yangyuan, Hebei province and passed away on December 25, 1987 in Beijing. He had only studied two years in a private school, he then became a cow-boy in his hometown. At the age of eleven, he learned the dizi from his elder brother and joined the ensemble in his hometown as an accompanist. At the age of thirteen, he could be able to stand out for himself in performance. In 1921, he followed his eldest brother to Mongolia. Over there, he learned most of the Mongolian folk songs and local music. In 1953, he was selected as a representative of Hebei province to participate in the 1st National Joint Performance of Folk Music and Dance. Later on, he was appointed as a soloist of the Central Song and Dance Troupe in Beijing. In 1964, he was transferred to the newly set up China Conservatory in charge of the Wind and Percussion Section. During the Cultural Revolution, he went back to his hometown. In 1972, he returned to the China Conservatory. In 1983, the conservatory held a solo concert for him. His dizi compositions were published in Beijing under his own repertoire.
