顧冠仁,作曲家,國家一級作曲。歷任上海民族樂團團長、終身藝術顧問,中國民族管弦樂學會副會長,中國音樂家協會理事、民族音樂委員會副主任,中國民族管弦樂學會榮譽會長,上海音樂家協會主席。1942年1月1日,出生於江蘇海門。1957年,考入上海民族樂團,任琵琶演奏員;1963年肄業於上海音樂學院,學習音樂理論作曲和指揮;1965年畢業後,調回上海民族樂團從事音樂創作;1985年起,任上海民族樂團藝術委員會主任;1991年1月,任上海民族樂團團長;1995年8月,任改制後的上海民族樂團藝術總監,至2000年4月辭去樂團職務,轉為上海市文化廣播影視管局藝術創作中心簽約作曲家,四十多年來,創作改編的作品約一百五十件,是位多產的作曲家。

主要作品有:琵琶協奏曲《花木蘭》、《王昭君》;合奏《東海漁歌》(與馬聖龍合作)、《春天》組曲、《星島掠影》組曲、《將軍令》、《大地回春》、《路》;樂隊協奏曲《八音和鳴》,音詩《歲寒三友:松、竹、梅》、《憶江南》;西部民歌主題組曲《在那遙遠的地方》、《可愛的玫瑰花》;二胡協奏曲《望月》,中阮協奏曲《塞外音詩》,古箏與弦樂隊《山水》,三弦協奏曲《草原》,曲笛、古箏雙協奏曲《牡丹亭》,琵琶、三弦雙協奏曲《雙檔:說書人》;彈撥樂合奏《三六》、《駝鈴響叮噹》、《喜悅》;江南絲竹《春暉曲》、《綠野》、《清清洋山河》;小合奏《京調》、《蘇堤漫步》;重奏《激流》、《江南風韻》;音樂朗誦《琵琶行》、《兵車行》等。其作品由2005年起,海內外知名樂團均曾主辦過「顧冠仁作品音樂會」

GU Guan-ren (January 1, 1942–)
GU Guan-ren is a composer and a national first-class composer. He has served as the chief of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra, lifelong artistic advisor, vice president of the Chinese Society of Traditional Orchestral Music, council member of the Chinese Musicians’ Association, deputy director of the Traditional Music Committee, honorary president of the Chinese Society of Traditional Orchestral Music, and chairman of the Shanghai Musicians’ Association. He was born on January 1, 1942, in Haimen, Jiangsu Province. In 1957, he was admitted to the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra as a pipa player. In 1963, he studied music theory, composition, and conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. After graduating in 1965, he returned to the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra to engage in music composition. From 1985 onwards, he served as the director of the Art Committee of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. In January 1991, he became the chief of the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. In August 1995, he became the artistic director of the restructured Shanghai Chinese Orchestra until he resigned from the orchestra in April 2000. He then became a contracted composer at the Art Creation Center of the Shanghai Cultural Broadcasting and Film Bureau. Over the past forty years, he has composed and adapted approximately 150 works, making him a prolific composer.
His major works include the pipa concertos “Hua Mulan” and “Wang Zhaojun”, the ensemble works “Fisherman’s Song on Eastern Sea” (in collaboration with MA Sheng-long), “Spring” suite,”Shadow of Star Island” suite, “General’s Order”, “Spring Returns to the Earth” and “Road”; the orchestral concerto “Eight Sounds in Harmony”, tone poems “Three Friends in Cold Weather: Pine, Bamboo, Plum” and “Memories of Jiangnan”, the Western folk song-themed suite “In That Distant Place” and “Lovely Rose”, the erhu concerto “Moonlight,” the zhongruan concerto “Poetic Sounds from the Frontier”, the guzheng and string orchestra piece “Mountains and Waters”, the sanxian concerto “Grassland”, the qudi and guzheng double concerto “The Peony Pavilion”, and the pipa and sanxian double concerto “Duo: The Storyteller”, the plucked-string ensemble works “San Liu”, “Camel Bells Jingling”, and “Joy”, the Jiangnan silk and bamboo ensemble pieces “Spring Radiance”, “Green Fields” and “Clear Rivers and Mountains”, the small ensemble works “Jing Diao” and “Strolling on the Sudi Causeway”, the chamber works “Torrent” and “Jiangnan Charm” and the music recitations “Pipa Xing” and “The War Chariots’ Journey” among others. Since 2005, renowned orchestras at home and abroad have hosted “Gu Guanren Works Concerts” featuring his compositions.
