扬琴演奏家郑宝恒,一九二四年二月出生于山西太原,二零零七年十一月十七日病逝于天津。一九四四年,入西安西北音乐学院主修小提琴,一九四九年,转中央音乐学院续修小提琴,并师从粤乐演奏家冯永康习扬琴与高胡。一九六一年,调任天津音乐学院,任扬琴专业教师,直至退休。一九五零年,毕业后在母校首开扬琴专业课,即与张子锐合作改革传统小扬琴,一九五三年,研制成我国首台律吕式大扬琴,有四个八度的全部半音阶,便于移调转调,扩大了音域,增大了音量,并设置了制音器,便于控制余音。郑氏作有大扬琴曲《春到淮河》、《翠湖春晓》等,小扬琴曲《海燕》、《万年欢》、《英雄壮志建山区》,高胡、扬琴、古筝三重奏《胜利花灯》、《淮河随想曲》等。著述有《扬琴新技法及曲选》及《扬琴演奏艺术》等书谱。

ZHENG Bao-heng

            ZHENG Bao-heng was born in February 1924 in Taiyuan, Shanxi province and passed away of illness on November 17, 2007 in Tianjin. In 1944, he was admitted to the Northwest Conservatory of Xian majoring in violin. In 1949, he was transferred to the Central Conservatory in Beijing and further studied the violin. He also studied yangqin and gaohu on Cantonese music under famous virtuoso FENG Yong-kang. In 1950, he graduated in Central Conservatory and became a teacher of the conservatory. In 1953, he developed the 1st set of grand yangqin in chromatic scale of four octaves in China. In 1961, he was transferred to the Tianjin Conservatory until his retirement. He has composed the Spring Comes to River Huai, Spring Morning on the River Bank, The Petrel, Happy Life for Ever, etc. He also wrote books and had his yangqin pieces published in collection.
