古筝演奏家范上娥,一九四二年十月出生于上海市,原籍广东潮阳,一九五四年,考入上海音乐学院附属中学,主修钢琴,一九五八年,转学古筝,一九六一年,附中毕业,直升大学本科继续学习。曾先后师从古筝大师王巽之、曹正、郭鹰等,有系统地学习了浙江、潮州、河南、山东等流派的筝曲,一九六六年,毕业于上海音乐学院。一九六七年,入北京中国电影乐团任演奏员,参与了许多电影、电视剧音乐的录制,一九九八年,被评为国家一级演奏员,并担任北京古筝研究会理事。曾先后赴日本、瑞士、瑞典、挪威、西班牙、前苏联、美国、韩国、新加坡等国访问演出,一九八一年,出席了在香港举办的“亚洲作曲家大会及音乐节”,在开幕仪式上,与香港中乐团合作演奏了中国第一部古筝协奏曲《汨罗江幻想曲》。上世纪九十年代移居美国,现定居加拿大多伦多,从事古筝教学与演奏活动。

FAN Shang-e

FAN Shang-e was born in October 1942 in Shanghai and her ancestral home was in Caoyang, Guangdong province. In 1954, she was admitted to the affiliated middle school of Shanghai Conservatory, majored in the piano. In 1958, she changed the subject to learn the zheng until graduated with distinction from the conservatory in 1966. She studied various schools of zheng playing under the famous zheng masters WANG Xun-zi, CAO Zheng and GUO Ying which included the Zhejiang, Chaozhou, Henan and Shandong. In 1967, she joined the Chinese Movie Traditional Orchestra in Beijing and was appointed as national first grade performer in 1998. She was the director of the Beijing Guzheng Research Institute. She has performed extensively throughout Asia, Europe and North America. In 1981, she participated in the Asian Composer Conference and Music Festival in Hong Kong and premiered the Fantasia of River Miluo which was the first Chinese concerto piece of guzheng with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. She has resettled in Toronto of Canada since 1992.
