閔惠芬,一九四五年十二月二十三日出生於江蘇省宜興縣一個水鄉小村,二零一四年五月十二日病逝於上海。其父親為民族樂器演奏家、教育家閔季騫,自幼即隨父習二胡,八歲時,在丹陽藝術師範學校附小首次登台,一九五六年,遷居南京,入鼓樓區「少年之家」紅領巾藝術團,於此參加課餘音樂活動,除二胡獨奏外,亦任樂隊指揮,同時還學鋼琴。一九五八年,考入上海音樂學院附中民族音樂科,師從王乙習二胡。其間,在一九六三年第四屆「上海之春」的全國首屆二胡比賽中,榮獲第一名。一九六四年,跳級升讀上海音樂學院民族音樂系本科,師從陸修棠,一九六九年畢業後,在上海樂團、中國藝術團、上海藝術團任二胡獨奏演員,嘗任中國音樂家協會副主席。一九八一年,閔氏身患重症,但仍於一九八二年的「上海之春」音樂會上,首次演奏作曲家劉文金的作品二胡協奏曲《長城隨想》,獲得成功。

MIN Hui-fen

MIN Hui-fen was born on December 23, 1945 in Yixing, Jiangsu province and passed away of illness on May 12, 2014 in Shanghai. Her father MIN Ji-qian was a renowned traditional music instrumentalist and educationalist. She learned the erhu from her father when she was young. In 1956, their family moved to Nanjing and she joined the Art Troupe of the Children’s Club at drum tower area. She was then the erhu soloist and the conductor of the ensemble. In 1958, she was admitted to the affiliated secondary school of the Shanghai Conservatory learning the erhu under WANG Yi. In 1963, she was selected to participate in the 4th Shanghai Spring Festival’s national erhu competition. She and JIANG Xun-feng both won the first prize. In 1964, she was admitted to step up to the undergraduate course learning the erhu under LU Xiu-tang. After she graduated from the conservatory in 1969, she was appointed to the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, the China Arts Group and the Shanghai Arts Group respectively as the erhu soloist. She is then the vice-president of the China Musicians’ Association. In 1981, she has got sickness of cancer, but she is still brave to premiere the erhu concerto The Great Wall Capriccio by LIU Wen-jin in 1982’s Shanghai Spring Festival.
