于粦 YU Lin(1925年4月17日~2017年6月29日)

于粦,作曲家、指揮家、演員、活動家。曾任香港校際音樂節評判、華南電影工作者聯合會樂團指揮、香港中樂團客席指揮、香港管弦國樂團指揮、香港青年國樂團顧問及客席指揮、香港青少年國樂團顧問。1925年4月17日,出生於江蘇省南京市,本名黃玉麟,祖籍廣東省台山縣;畢業於廣東省藝術專科學校音樂系,師事黃友棣先生;後赴香港定居,自1953年起,参加華南電影界,從事音樂設計及作曲等工作,曾經涉獵數十部電影的譜曲,主要作品:採蓮曲、野玫瑰、雙喜臨門、午夜琴聲、雷雨、蘇小小、豪門怨、董小宛、彩鳳驚魂、香港屋簷下、西施、一水隔天涯、巴士銀、屈原……;稍晚,又參加香港電視台之劇集音樂創作,主要劇集包括:逼上梁山、民間傳奇•三笑、西廂記、浣花洗劍錄、祥林嫂、大家姐、天蠶變、鴛鴦蝴蝶夢、流星蝴蝶劍、廣東好漢、雪山飛狐、劍仙李白、李後主……,並為香港大嶼山寶蓮寺的天壇大佛撰作主題曲《大德昭四方》等。1966年為左几導演的電影《一水隔天涯》作同名主題曲(左几先詞、于粦後曲),由苗金鳳主演,幕後代唱這曲的是韋秀嫻,風行了半世紀後,因之於2010榮獲香港作曲家及作詞家協會(CASH)頒發「音樂成就大獎」。于粦大師,已於2017年6月29日下午四時於香港依利沙伯醫院因病逝世,享年92歲。

YU Lin (April 17, 1925 – June 29, 2017) was a composer, conductor, actor, and activist. He served as a judge for the Hong Kong School Music Festival, conductor of the South China Film Workers Association Orchestra, guest conductor of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Chinese Orchestra, advisor and guest conductor of the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra, and advisor of the Hong Kong Junior Chinese Orchestra. YU Lin was born on April 17, 1925, in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, with the birth name HUANG Yu-lin, and his ancestral home was Taishan, Guangdong Province. He graduated from the Guangdong Arts College with a major in music, studying under Mr. HUANG You-ti. He later settled in Hong Kong, and from 1953 onwards, he engaged in music design and composition for the South China film industry. He composed scores for dozens of films, including notable works such as “Lotus Picking Song”, “Wild Rose”, “Double Happiness”, “Midnight Melody”, “Thunderstorm”, “Su Xiaoxiao”, “Family Hatred”, “Dong Xiaowan”, “Startling Phoenix”, “Under the Eaves of Hong Kong”, “Xi Shi”, “Secluded Waters Separated by a Day”, “Silver Bus”, “Qu Yuan”, and more. Later, he also participated in composing music for television dramas at Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited. Some of the major TV dramas he worked on include “Going Up the Mountain”, “Folk Legend: San Xiao”, “Romance of the Western Chamber”, “Flower Washing Sword “, “Xiang Lin Sao”, “Big Sister”, “The Metamorphosis of the Silkworm”, “Butterfly Lovers”, “Meteor Butterfly Sword”, “Cantonese Heroes”, “Fox Volant of the Snowy Mountain”, “Immortal Li Bai”, “Emperor Li Houzhu”, and others. He also composed the theme song “Great Virtue Shines in All Directions” for the Tian Tan Buddha at Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. In 1966, he composed the theme song “Secluded Waters Separated by a Day” for the film of the same name directed by ZOU Ji (lyrics by ZOU Ji, music by Yu Lin), featuring MIU Jin Fung as the lead actress. The song was dubbed by Vivian WAI Sau-han, and after gaining popularity for half a century, it received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) in 2010. Master YU Lin passed away on June 29, 2017, at 4:00 pm in Hong Kong’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 92 due to illness.
