唢呐演奏家赵春峰,一九一二年十二月二十二日出生于山东省乐陵县一庄稼人家。九岁入私塾,开始萌发学习民间音乐的志向,十三岁正式拜同村吹歌会高手邵相林为师学管子演奏,并参加该村之半职业性吹歌会,十六岁离乡参加山东乐陵别处一个职业性鼓乐班,随张世昌学习板胡、唢呐、笙等乐器。一九三九年,隻身赴天津参加当地鼓乐班赢得“唢呐大王”之美誉。一九四○年,被哈尔滨“郭炳日鼓乐班”聘为该班主奏。一九五○年,返回山东,先后在宁津县河北梆子剧团和评剧院任琴师。一九五三年后,被中央音乐学院及中国音乐学院聘为唢呐专业教师,兼授笙、管、板胡等乐器。赵氏多年来走南闯北,广撷鼓吹乐之精粹,将原为有词之《大金丝草》,描述伯牙失去知音怀故之情的曲趣放慢润饰,另具怀旧思故之情,并易名为《高山流水》,与琴、筝曲《高山流水》各异旨趣,各领风骚。其著述有《赵春峰唢呐曲集》和《唢呐曲选》等教材。

ZHAO Chun-feng

        ZHAO Chun-feng was born on December 22, 1912 in Leling, Shandong province. At the age of nine, he was admitted to a private school and started to approach traditional music. When he was thirteen, he formally learned the guanzi under the famous musician SHAO Xiang-lin of the wind ensemble in his hometown. He later joined the ensemble there. At the age of sixteen, he left his native place and joined the ensemble in other place. At there, he learned the banhu, suona, sheng, etc. from ZHANG Shi-chang. In 1939, He went to Tianjin and won a fame of “The King of Suona”. In 1940, he was appointed the performing leader of an ensemble in Harbin. In 1950, he went back to Shandong and became the ensemble member of the Hebei Bangzi Theatres. After 1953, he was successively appointed to the Central Conservatory and the China Conservatory as a suona professional teacher. He also taught sheng, guanzi and banhu in the conservatories. He composed the suona piece High Mountain and Flowing Water which described the story of Bo Ya and Zi Qi from an ancient song called Da Jin Si Cao and with different melodies to the qin and zheng music. He has also written books like The Collection of Zhao Chun-feng’s Suona Pieces and Selections on Suona Pieces.
