黄海怀,一九三五年出生于江西萍乡,一九六七年二月不幸英年早逝,病故于武汉。酷爱音乐戏剧,十七岁时曾任业馀剧团副团长,二胡演奏出色。一九五五年,考入中南音乐专科学校即今之武汉音乐学院前身,师从周华林专修二胡,一九五八年,毕业留校任教。一九五九年,黄氏创作著名二胡曲《骞马》,创用大段拨弦手法。一九六二年三月,在广州首届“羊城花会”上,听到旅大歌舞团双管演奏家谷新善演奏《江河水》,即将之移植为二胡演奏而广为流传。一九六三年五月,参加第四届“上海之春”全国首届二胡比赛获第三名及新作品演奏优秀奖。

HUANG Hai-huai

HUANG Hai-huai was born in 1935 in Ping district, Jiangxi province and passed away of illness in February 1967 in Wuhan, Hubei province. He loved music and drama very much in childhood. When he was seventeen, he was the associated director of an amateur drama group. In 1955, he was admitted to the music training school, which was renamed to Wuhan Conservatory later, learning the erhu under ZHOU Hua-lin. In 1958, he graduated from the conservatory and was appointed to teach in the conservatory. In 1959, he composed the famous erhu piece Horse Racing. In 1962, after attending the concert of the 1st Guangzhou Music Festival, he was affected by GU Xin-shan’s Shuangguan solo of the River Water. He then transcribed it to an erhu solo piece. In 1963, he was selected to participate in the 4th Shanghai Spring Festival’s national erhu competition and won the third prize and the outstanding new work performance prize.
