山東箏家趙玉齋，一九二四年二月二日出生於山東省鄆城縣陳坡鄉大王廟村一清貧農家，一九九八年二月十日病逝於沈陽。其父好戲曲、音樂，趙氏少時即得同村王登海啟蒙，習奏四胡、板胡、墜琴及揚琴等，又從鄰村樊錫雨、黎連俊習箏。一九四三年，拜王殿玉為師學箏及擂琴，一九四九年八月，他在「東魯雅樂社」學徒期滿後，獨自南下，賣藝到貴陽、昆明。一九五一年，又經貴陽、遵義賣藝到重慶，參加了「重慶技藝團」，任擂琴、古箏演奏，兼任樂隊隊長。一九五三年，趙氏赴京參加全國第一屆民間音樂舞蹈匯演，獲優秀表演獎；同年秋，經箏家曹正先生之推舉，在東北音專（即今瀋陽音樂學院）任教至病逝。二十世紀五十年代，趙氏即開始創作新箏曲，有《慶豐年》、《新春》和《工人贊》、《和平舞》等，收入《箏曲選集》及《古箏曲集》內。其所編之《藝曆志記》一冊，記錄其藝海生涯，連同續編，不幸於「文革」期間被抄家而遺失。
ZHAO Yu-zhai
ZHAO Yu-zhai was born on February 2, 1924 in Yun Cheng, Shandong province and passed away of illness on February 10, 1998 in Shenyang. He started to learn the sihu, banhu, zhuihu and yangqin under WANG Deng-hai and the zheng under FAN Xi-yu and LI Lian-jun since his childhood. In 1943, he learned the zheng and leiqin under WANG Dian-yu and joined Wang’s Ensemble of Dong Lu. In 1951, he joined the AcrobaticTroupe of Zhongqing and became the leiqin and zheng performer. In 1953, he was invited to Beijing to participate in the 1st Traditional Music and Folk Dance Show. In autumn of 1953, he was recommended by CAO Zheng as a teacher in Shenyang Conservatory and worked there until his death. He composed many zheng new pieces, such as Celebration of Good Harvest, Early Spring, Praise Song of Workers and Peaceful Dance, etc.
