唢呐演奏家赵春亭,一九○七年七月二十三日出生于河北省沧州县崔庄一个唢呐世家,一九八四年四月十九日病逝于北京,享年七十七岁。自幼酷爱民间鼓吹乐,十一岁时拜著名民间乐手“吹破天”及伯父与大哥为师,学习民间吹管乐器。一九五三年,被选为河北省代表队的一员参加“全国第一届民间音乐、舞蹈汇演”,以唢呐独奏《山东大鼓》和《小放牛》获优秀演奏奖。后即被北京中央歌舞团吸纳为独奏演员,并于一九六○年调任新成立的中央民族乐团,开始代表国家作对外文化交流的使命,其间又不断的学习与研究,开发了“箫音”、“三弦音”等新的演奏技巧,一九六四年,调职北京新成立的中国音乐学院任教,并任中国音协民族管乐研究组顾问,对新一代的学子作一丝不苟的培育,同年由北京音乐出版社出版《赵春亭唢呐曲选》。

ZHAO Chun-ting

        ZHAO Chun-ting was born on July 23, 1907 in Cangzhou, Hebei province and passed away of illness at the age of seventy-seven on April 19, 1984. He liked music since his childhood and learned the traditional wind instruments under the famous musician “Blowing to Break the Sky” and his elder brother also his uncle at the age of eleven. In 1953, he was selected to represent Hebei Province to participate in the 1st National Joint Performance of Folk Music and Dance. He won the outstanding prize with the solo suona pieces The Shandong Dagu and Feeding Cattle. After that, he was appointed to the Chinese orchestra of the Central Song and Dance Troupe of China in Beijing as a soloist. In 1960, he was transferred to the newly set-up National Traditional Orchestra of China. During that period, he developed many new techniques for the suona like the sound of xiao, and sound of sanxian. In 1964, he was transferred to take up a teaching post in the new established China Conservatory. He also took up the post of supervisor of the research unit of the Wind Instruments Society under the Chinese Musicians’ Association. In the same year, the Beijing Music Publishing House published his suona pieces The Collection of Zhao Chun-ting’s Suona Pieces.
