CHEN Zhen-duo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n CHEN Zhen-duo was born on January 3, 1905 in Zibo, Shandong province and passed away of heart disease on November 8, 1999 in Beijing. He learned the traditional music when he was ten. In 1928, he was admitted to the National Shanghai Conservatory learning the piano, pipa<\/em>, xiao<\/em>, percussion and composition. In 1929, he was admitted to the music department of the Beijing University Arts Academy learning the erhu<\/em> under LIU Tian-hua, the piano under ZHAO Li-lian and the guqin<\/em> under ZHANG you-he. Since 1932, he was appointed to teach in the high-level educational units. In 1950, he was appointed as professor of Central Conservatory and in 1958, the professor of the Tianjin Conservatory. In 1961, he was transferred to the Central Nationalities Institute as professor and officer of the music research unit.
