BAO Jian<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n BAO Jian studied in the affiliated secondary school and Department of Chinese Music of the Central Conservatory from 1976 to 1986. He achieved a bachelor degree and studied under the famous guanzi<\/em> player HU Zhi-hou. After graduation he stayed in the conservatory as a teacher and a member of its Chinese Chamber Orchestra. In 1994, he was invited by the Hong Kong Urban Council to perform in the 15th<\/sup> Asian Arts Festival. In the International Chinese Music Competition 1995, he was the champion for the guanzi<\/em> section.
